Program Introduction:
The M.Sc. in Computer Science is a two-year, four-semester graduate program comprising 60 credit hours, designed to provide advanced theoretical knowledge, technical expertise, and research skills in computer science and emerging computing technologies. The curriculum covers fundamental areas such as Advanced Computer Architecture, Data Structures and Algorithms, Operating Systems, Software Engineering, Database Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Internet Technology, and Theory of Computation. It further emphasizes Cybersecurity, Data Science and Analytics, IT Governance and Ethics, and specialized elective areas. Research Techniques, Research Seminar, and a 12-credit thesis strengthen students’ capacity for independent research and innovation. The program prepares graduates for advanced professional, academic, research, and entrepreneurial careers.

- Applicants must have completed four-year bachelor’s degree in any branch of Engineering, Computer Science, or B.Sc. in Data Science, Physics, Statistics, or Mathematics, or an equivalent degree/program from a recognized university/institution.
- A minimum CGPA of 2.0 at the bachelor’s level from Pokhara University, or a minimum of second division or equivalent grade at the bachelor’s level from another recognized university/institution.
Graduates of the M.Sc. in Computer Science can pursue advanced careers in software engineering, artificial intelligence and machine learning, data science and analytics, cybersecurity, database and data engineering, systems and network administration, web and Internet technologies, IT governance, and technology consulting. They can work in software and IT companies, banks and financial institutions, telecommunications organizations, government agencies, research institutions, universities, startups, and other technology-driven organizations.
